JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Job:
KT is seeking expression of interest for qualified persons to support the data collection exercise for the fish market and value chain study to map the flow of fish from inputs to consumers with a gender and youth lens perspective. The study will cover the following counties in Uganda:
Busia, Elegu, Sigulu, Mutukula, Mpondwe, Butyaba, and Goli.
Enumerators Key Activities Include:
i) Attend a 2-day enumerators’ training workshop which will include conducting a pre-survey test.
ii) Review and make any amendments to the survey tools if applicable.
iii) Work with Kilimo Trust staff to develop and agree an enumeration schedule.
iv) Conduct interviews with individual respondents and FGDs and record responses.
v) Comply with the requirements necessary for conducting a successful interview.
vi) Identify and report problems in obtaining valid data.
vii) Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy.
viii) Identify and resolve inconsistencies in interviewees' responses by means of appropriate questioning or explanation.
ix) Submit data collected every day via KOBO collect.
x) Ensure that all data submitted is complete and accurate.
xi) Ensure that all questionnaires are accounted for and submitted.
xii) Return all devices for field data collection to Kilimo Trust Staff/supervisor
•Timeline:
The exercise is expected to last for 13 days, including a 2-day training workshop and travel, from March 27 to April 10, 2025.
•Enumerator skills, Experiences and Qualifications
i) A Degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Agriculture extension, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Agribusiness, Environmental studies, Marine studies, Social Sciences, Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics or any other related field.
ii) Possession of a Master’s or Post Graduate Diploma in any of the relevant fields will be an added advantage.
iii) Fisheries extension officers of the respective areas as well as other applicants from study localities will be given priority
iv) Experience in conducting surveys, analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting information/reports.
v) Fluent in English, Swahili and local language of any of the areas where the research will focus; will be an added advantage.
