Job Description/Requirements
LEAD4africa (L4A) is a dynamic, faith-based organization whose main office is situated in Muyenga, Kampala-Uganda. Its prides itself in the development of the next generation of Disciple Nation Builders based on four thematic focus areas of: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Academics and Discipleship, while imparting biblical principles.
L4A has programs in Uganda and South Sudan, and is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate to fill the following vacancy: -
JOB SUMMARY
The Data Associate will be responsible for processing and ensuring all data from LEAD 4africa’s program departments (academy, university, and post-university) is entered into LEAD 4africa’s digital database (Salesforce) in an accurate and timely manner. By compiling, verifying the accuracy of, and sorting data based on LEAD 4africa’s needs, the Data Associate will be working closely with both the Leadership Development Program staff, as well as the Strategy and Program Impact team to ensure that all the organization’s data management processes are robust and effective. Ultimately, a successful Data Associate will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and usable information in LEAD 4africa’s systems.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.0 Data Entry and Accuracy
- Ensure timely and accurate data capture is entered into the 4africa database (Salesforce).
- Validate data entered into Salesforce to ensure data is correct and aligns with the program’s needs.
2.0 Data Organization and Structuring
- Work closely with MEAL, Salesforce, and the IT team to ensure seamless data flow within the LEAD 4africa tools and systems.
- Ensure data is organized and structured properly prior to inputting into the Salesforce system, utilizing Microsoft Excel and other tools, when needed.
3.0 Quality Assurance and Consistency
- Conduct data validation/audits on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to identify and rectify data errors to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent data is reported.
- Work closely with MEAL, the Salesforce team, and the program teams to ensure all program data is aligned with organizational strategies and reporting needs.
4.0 Data Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct data analysis to derive insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Work closely with MEAL and the Salesforce team to promote data use culture within the organization through data visualization and reporting.
5.0 Data Maintenance and Updates
- Ensure data is regularly backed up, securely stored, and updated according to changes in program implementation.
- Maintain high data integrity and confidentiality for effective program implementation.
REQUIRED ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Employment or internship experience in data collection, analysis and management

- Ability to approach problems analytically, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering accurate results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex findings in a clear and understandable manner.
- Good computer knowledge; ranging from Microsoft applications such as MS Word MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Willingness to travel to operational areas of LEAD 4africa (Nimule, South Sudan and Gulu, Uganda) on fieldwork.
