MPEWU Credit Finance is hiring a self-driven, target-oriented, and dynamic Credit Officer (4) to join our growing team. As a credit officer, you will be the bridge between MPEWU Credit Finance and our clients-guiding them through the loan process, assessing their eligibility, and ensuring they get the financial support they need while maintaining our high lending standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote MPEWU Credit Finance products to potential clients by creating effective marketing strategies.
  • Screen applications based on established criteria, ensure adherence to program policies, and verify the accuracy of client information.
  • Conduct loan appraisal for all eligible clients of all products including visiting their businesses and homes, drawing sketch maps, and inspecting the securities to be offered by the clients.
  • Train clients and groups according to planned curricular.
  • Ensure timely loan disbursements by completing and verifying the required documentation for each loan product;
  • Participate actively in the Credit Committee for reviewing and approving loans;
  • Monitor client repayments according to the agreed schedule, document any delinquent loans, and follow the procedures for loan recovery as specified in the loan policies and procedures manual;
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports;
  • Establish good relationships with local leaders and legal authorities that can assist in the loan appraisal and recovery process (maintain a record of contacts, such as stamps and phone numbers, for all local authorities in a specific zone);
  • Perform any other duties related to this position.

Qualifications, skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Microfinance, Finance and other related fields.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Credit Officer.

Skills and Competences

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines vs high ethical standards and confidentiality with financial data.
  • Good Riding skills.
  • Good computer skills and loan management software
