Job Description – Cosmetology Trainer Position:Cosmetology Trainer Location: Kinoni, Rwampara Distrct. Job Purpose To deliver high-quality training in cosmetology, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to excel in the beauty and hairdressing industry, while upholding the standards of the institution and the Uganda

Job Description/Requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching aids for cosmetology classes.
- Conduct both theoretical and practical training in hairdressing, beauty therapy, skin care, nail technology, and make-up.
- Demonstrate practical skills step-by-step to ensure students gain hands-on competencies.
- Assess and evaluate students through tests, assignments, and practical demonstrations.
- Supervise students during practical sessions, industrial attachments, and projects.
- Mentor and guide students on career development, professionalism, and customer service.
- Participate in curriculum development and review to align with Uganda TVET/CBET standards.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, progress, and performance reports.
- Ensure proper care, safety, and maintenance of training equipment, tools, and facilities.
- Keep abreast of new industry trends, technologies, and practices to enrich student training.
- Represent the institution in beauty competitions, workshops, and exhibitions.
- Promote discipline, excellence, and the institution’s values by serving as a role model to students.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in Cosmetology, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- A teaching/training qualification or certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ practical experience in cosmetology, salon, or beauty-related industry.
- Previous teaching or training experience in a vocational/college setting is desirable.
- Excellent practical skills in hairdressing, skin care, nail technology, and make-up.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills.
- Ability to prepare training content, manage a classroom, and assess students effectively.
- Creativity, innovation, and knowledge of modern beauty trends.
