Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) / Center for Global Health: Core Services to Support Research Studies and Projects
Description:
Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/Center for Global Health, the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), and Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital have built a strong partnership over the past 20 years. Joint priorities include research and innovation; clinical care; promotion of nursing leadership and quality of patient care; and expansion of bi-directional education and learning opportunities.
MGH seeks a Uganda-based entity to manage core support services for MGH studies and projects. Core support includes but is not limited to Institutional Review Board support; IT support; meeting facilitation; representation at MUST; licensure; safety and security; etc. Close collaboration with MUST is expected. At the end of this 6-month engagement (July-December 2025), contract services for continued research support would be offered directly by the incumbent to MGH studies.
Additional Job Description Details:
The selected entity will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of MGH's research initiatives in Uganda. Responsibilities may also include:
- Coordinating logistics for research teams, including travel, accommodations, and local permits.
- Providing administrative support for grant applications and compliance with local and international regulations.
- Facilitating communication between MGH, MUST, and other local stakeholders to ensure alignment of research objectives.
- Managing financial transactions and budgeting for research projects in accordance with MGH policies.
- Ensuring data integrity and confidentiality in compliance with institutional and international standards.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in research administration, strong ties to Ugandan academic and healthcare institutions, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
