Job Summary

The consultancy will take the form of mentorship and working step by step with partners to analyze, reflect on and eventually improve, depending on the needs jointly assessed governance the critical organizational systems, structures, and policies. It will specifically include technical support to develop and/or review their strategic plans, financial policies, safeguarding policies, human resource policies, anti-Fraud policy, conflict of interest policy and Asset & Risk Management policies as suited for each organization.

The organizational capacity-building process should be tailored to give value for money. It should also provide an in-depth understanding of the key challenges faced by organizations directly relate to staff, program implementation, stakeholder relationships and organizational structure as a whole and make strategic recommendations to inform the sustainability of the organizations.
The organizational capacity building exercise should be consultative, participatory and maximize the experience of the project partners to accurately develop policies and systems that will strengthen organizations at all times.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare an inception report outlining the consultant’s interpretation of the TOR, detailing modifications proposed and agreed with the RHU and a program of work. The proposal will include a description of the tasks and a methodology of work.
  • Review reports of the previous assessment, interview respective partner institutional leads and form an opinion on the most effective approach to work with partners at the start of the assignment, identifying and considering what the partners have and are already working on with the consultants financed by other donors to avoid duplication of efforts and loss of time. The consultant will also review existing institutional documents,
  • Present a draft status report indicating activities conducted out at each of the project partner organizations and clearly outline progress made towards the objective of the assignment, key challenges and proposed way forward at the first 2 months of starting the assignment.
  • Present a final draft report of the assignment highlighting achievements per partner including completed institutional documents developed in a process owned by the partners by at least 30th September 2020.

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 5 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
