Job Summary
The Consortium Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, external relations, high-level strategic direction, and effective implementation of the LIT Program. The Consortium Manager will ensure the program aligns with the project's vision, objectives. Key responsibilities will include leading program coordination, implementation and fostering stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Coordination
• Lead and manage the implementation of the LIT Program
• Serve as the primary liaison between LGF, LIT Partners, Mastercard Foundation, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure effective coordination and collaboration among consortium partners, ensuring synergy and shared vision in delivering program activities.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of annual work plans, budgets, and program activities
Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
• Foster strong working relationships with government agencies, private sector players, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to enhance program success
• Represent LGF and the LIT Program in key stakeholder meetings, forums, and strategic discussions at national and international levels
Program Implementation and Quality Assurance
• Monitor program progress and ensure high-quality delivery of training, leadership development, and teacher motivation strategies
• Ensure continuous learning and adaptation within the program by integrating research findings and best practices into implementation strategies Monitoring,
Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
• Provide oversight for program monitoring and evaluation, ensuring timely collection, analysis, and reporting of program data
• Work closely with the MEL team to track progress against program outcomes and make data-driven decisions
Financial and Grant Management
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and grant management to ensure accountability and efficient utilization of program funds
• Work with finance and operations teams to develop and implement sound financial and operational systems for the program
• Ensure compliance with donor and LGF financial and procurement policies
Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field
• At least (7) seven years of experience in managing large-scale education programs
• Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and leadership within the education sector
• Strong background in teacher professional development, STEM education, or education system strengthening programs
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder programs, including collaboration with government agencies, donors, and NGOs.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Desirable Skills and Attributes
• Knowledge of Uganda’s education policies and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and manage multiple priorities
• Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and gender equity in education
