Job Summary: The Concrete Batching Plant Manager at GS Group Uganda Oversees the batching plant operations to ensure concrete quality, production targets, and safety standards. Manage raw material procurement, inventory, and supplier coordination. Supervise schedules, maintenance, and upgrades while ensuring compliance with quality standards. Coordinate staff and teams, monitor efficiency and costs, produce reports, and implement safety and maintenance programs. Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire batching plant operation, ensuring concrete quality, production targets, and safety standards are met
  • Plan and manage raw material procurement, inventory levels, and supplier coordination
  • Supervise batching schedules, maintenance routines, and plant upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with national and international quality standards (e.g. ASTM, BS EN, ACI)
  • Manage staff and coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, and logistics teams
  • Monitor plant efficiency and cost control, and produce daily and monthly production reports
  • Implement preventive maintenance and safety programs
  • Maintain accurate records of production outputs, material consumption, and maintenance logs

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 

 

Education & Experience

  • BSc Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in concrete production and plant operations
  • Strong technical knowledge of batching equipment, concrete mix design, and testing procedures
  • Experience with computerized batching systems and quality control protocols
  • Leadership, planning, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, inventory systems, and reporting tools
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations and plant safety management
