JOB DETAILS:

The Community Service Supervisor, under the supervision of the Community Based Protection Officer and the Subprogram Manager, is responsible for overseeing the Case Workers, Community structures, Causal workers and CBF activities in the respective areas of operation, adhering to LWF's standard operating procedures and guidelines to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Duties/ Responsibilities;

    • In conjunction with the CBP officer, the CSS liaises with and works in cooperation with the relevant local authorities, community leaders, and non-governmental organizations, collaborating/implementing partners, and other stakeholders where appropriate in order to achieve the project objectives, and facilitate project implementation.
    • Collects and tabulates on a regular basis field data on project activities carried out, and undertakes impact assessments using participatory approaches like AGD and RBA for all beneficiaries to determine the relevance and impact of project assistance.
    • Jointly identify and assess Persons with Specific Needs and the best intervention options while considering the Right Based Approach for improved wellbeing.
    • Regularly visits all projects and beneficiary sites where project activities are undertaken, checks on progress, offers support as directed by the project objectives.
    • Promotes active participation of beneficiaries, groups, youths, women, elders and intermediaries in planning, implementation, evaluation while empowering them to respond to some of their protection concerns and freely exercise their rights.
    • Build the capacities of communities, community structures like leaders, Social Action Teams, community volunteers, social workers to conduct individual needs assessment for vulnerable refugees, conduct basic counseling, referrals and support.
    • Work hand in with local authorities, community leaders in both the settlement and subcounty levels in planning, implementation, monitoring as well as coordination for support to the POCs.
    • Compiled timely and quality weekly, monthly and end of activity reports and share with the Project Officer.
    • Conduct any other activity that shall be assigned by your supervisor.

Administrative Roles;

  • Ensures organizational representation at the settlement level during the coordination meetings, community meetings among others
  • Support in hiring of the field causal workers, and CBFs
  • Field office operations and Base camp management at all times.
  • Field Asset management
  • Supervision of all case workers within the settlement.
  • Monthly field HR report.

Knowledge and skills:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies/or related discipline.
    • Must demonstrate understanding or experience in community programming.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing community-based programs in Refugee setting
    • Excellent skills required in reporting and documentation, and monitoring and evaluation
    • Knowledge of LWF operations, and national office programming preferable
    • Must be a creative individual with a strong sense of vision, commitment, and priorities
    • Must have strong organizational skills and an ability to work with diverse teams at community level
    • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills
    • Riding skills with a valid riding permit class “A” is a Must.
