Your mission is to manage the organisation's public image, implement brand storytelling initiatives and shape key narratives through effective corporate and marketing communications strategies

Key Duties & Job Responsibilities

Organisational 

  • Implement brand storytelling strategies to strongly position Brightermonday Uganda as a thought leader within the recruitment and talent industry.
  • Create internal and external communication strategies for Brightermonday.
  • Work across the organisations’ focal points to identify media moments, and success stories, develop and implement relevant materials and media outreach.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation.
  • Generate innovative ways to gain quality media coverage across all channels.

Functional 

  • Initiate, draft, and edit communications materials, including press kits, fact sheets, infographics and multimedia products.
  • Create Marketing and communication content that resonates with the audiences
  • Advise colleagues on media relations and handle media inquiries;
  • Development and maintenance of media contacts and lists;
  • Draft and distribute media advisories, news releases and other materials and design and organise media events, as appropriate, to promote activities of the organisation;
  • Advise and assist colleagues to include media outreach activities such as interviews or press briefings.
  • Work closely with the organisation’s media partner to continuously shape the organisation’s narratives.;
  • Provide effective and timely responses to public information inquiries;
  • Provide timely strategic advice and creative solutions for dealing with sensitive communications issues and stories.
  • Arrange and coordinate press conferences, and plan events.
  • Support and evaluate the results of communication campaigns with the team

Person Specifications:

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Years of Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience as a communications specialist with proven experience in PR, opinion pieces, Digital, MarCom campaigns, blog content, web content and more
  • Previous experience in managing the online communities of B2B brands.
  • Previous experience in media production will be an added advantage
  • Certifications in Brand and marketing and social media-related courses will be an added advantage.

Skills required to perform the Job: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective engagement with community members.
  • Ability to understand and address community members' needs, concerns, and feedback is essential.
  • Proficiency in creating and curating engaging content to maintain a dynamic and active community across all platforms.
  • Capability to gather and analyse community data to derive meaningful insights for business decision-making.
  • A genuine passion for the brand's values, products, or services and a strong desire to share that enthusiasm with the community.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools and content management systems used in B2B environments
  • Impact Storytelling and societal marketing communication campaign.
