Girls for Climate Action is a young women led movement that is cantering their lived realities and experiences to advocate for climate justice. The movement works to see that we have a just world that is resilient and lives in harmony with the Environment. G4CA does several programs including advocacy, climate education, climate leadership and Local led climate solutions across the country. We engage young women/youth to develop innovative, on-the-ground solutions to the toughest environmental challenges so that people and nature can thrive, as we contribute to building resilient communities. Additionally, Girls for Climate Action is engaging more young women and girls to be Eco-feminists and advocate for inclusive climate adaptation solutions, policies and plans.

WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Communications Manager manages and implements strategic communication and marketing that facilitates comprehension, adoption and advancement of the organization’s goals and objectives. They will be on the External Affairs team, working to advance climate justice strategies and goals through the development and implementation of cross-programmatic communications initiatives. The Communications and Marketing Manager will also play a critical role in supporting on partnerships team, assisting with content development and possibly events support to help the movement reach its fundraising goals. They will be part of all the teams working to guide and support on communication needs, development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies.

The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for;

• Initiating, implementing and managing communication and media tactics to scale our efforts.
• They help facilitate on-going communication among movement members, internal and external partners and identify communication and media needs and opportunities.

• They help develop speeches, key messages and talking points, as needed. They research, write and distribute a wide variety of communication materials including but not limited to op-eds, news releases, fact sheets, web articles, and blog posts, as directed.
• They will project manage the publication of a Quarterly newsletter and quarterly Board reports. They actively identify target audiences and seek engagement opportunities with new audiences.
• Social media management and brand visibility.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.

• Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
• Experience writing, editing, and proofreading.
• Experience in mainstream and social media engagement.
• Self-motivated and organized
• Proficient user of website content management systems (i.e., Site Manager)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
• Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
• Experience implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.
• Experience developing media relations networks.
• Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication experience, including but not limited to technical writing, computer skills, presentation and oral communication

• Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline.
• Proficient user of social media (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.
