JOB DETAILS:
Background information about the job or company:
The incumbent will be responsible for performing various policy analysis duties within the government sector in Uganda.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Tracking existing and new public policies for consistency, coherence, and harmony
- Providing relevant policy guidance to Senior and Top Management in the Public Service
- Recommending and ensuring that International best practices in policy development are Institutionalized in Government
- Providing guidance in the establishment of Policy Analysis Units and professional development of Policy Analysts
- Providing technical guidance on Government policy research initiatives
- Supporting establishment of policy forums amongst Policy Analysis practitioners
- Providing technical guidance in regard to policy advocacy, sensitization, and education of stakeholders
- Providing regular reporting by line Ministries on the status of implementation of Cabinet decisions
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications or requirements:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy or related fields
- Applicants should have a Masters Degree in Public Policy or related fields
- Applicants should have a minimum of twelve (12) years relevant working experience
Experience needed:
Applicants should have a minimum of twelve (12) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Assistant Commissioner, Policy Analysis in Government.

- b)Scan and submit on-line Bachelor’s Degree and Post Graduate Transcripts and Certificates, Professional Documents, Copies of letters of Appointment, Confirmation and Promotion); relevant documents (‘O’ and A’ Level Certificates.
- c)Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.
- d)Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer. Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.
- e)Those who fail to get a recommendation should proceed and submit and also indicate a reason on their application as to why they were not recommended.
