JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
The Club Manager will lead day-to-day operations to enhance Uganda Golf Club’s efficiency, membership growth, and strategic execution. Responsibilities include financial stability, stakeholder hospitality, course maintenance, and alignment with the Club’s Vision and Mission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic and Annual Planning:
- Develop and execute strategic/annual business plans for sustainability and growth.
- Monitor sector trends and adjust strategies as needed.
- Performance Management:
- Set and monitor financial, service, and operational targets.
- Oversee quality of services, customer care, and departmental performance.
- Team Leadership:
- Motivate and manage staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies and labor laws.
- Lead recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Finance, Operations, and Procurement:
- Manage budgets, procurement, and financial compliance.
- Coordinate committee meetings and ensure course maintenance schedules.
- Asset Management:
- Maintain fixed asset registers, stock management, and machinery maintenance plans.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build partnerships with stakeholders (government, corporates, embassies, etc.).
- Secure sponsorships and grow/retain Club membership.
Key Deliverables:
- Increased membership and member satisfaction.
- Maintained golf facilities (course, clubhouse) and assets.
- Financial growth, cost control, and statutory compliance.
- Successful sponsorship-driven events and productive workforce.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities.
- Management experience (hospitality/golf preferred).
- Knowledge of budgeting, club services, and equipment management.
- Desirable:
- Professional qualifications in golf/hospitality.
- Understanding of golf traditions and flexible working hours.
- Experience with sponsors/stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and report-writing skills.
