Role Overview

As a Civil Engineer at JOYSCOM ENGINEERING COMPANY LTD, you will play a vital role in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of various building structures and facilities. You will work on-site in Hoima, collaborating within a dynamic team of engineers. We are looking for a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in a problem-solving environment.

Position Details

• Reports to Senior Engineer
• Number of Vacancies: 5

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct engineering activities, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
2. Test soils or materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.
3. Manage and direct the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project sites.
4. Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems or structures, using computer-assisted design or drawing tools.
5. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fields.
2. Required Skills: Active Listening, Speaking, Complex Problem Solving, Systems Analysis, Time Management.
3. Required Knowledge Areas: Engineering and Technology, Building and Construction, Customer and Personal Service, Law and Government.
4. Required Technology Knowledge: Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and other relevant software including project management and mapping tools.
5. Language Proficiency: English and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, additional certifications in IT or international languages would be an added advantage.
