JOB DETAILS:

To lead the Human Resource Business Partnering function by aligning HR strategies with business objectives, driving Organizational effectiveness through people, and fostering a high performance, inclusive, and digitally enabled culture. The role serves as a strategic advisor to business leaders, ensuring HR practices support sustainable growth, innovation and people engagement.

Key Result Areas:

1.Strategic Alignment

  • Ensure that the Human Resource strategies, practices, and programs are aligned with the overall business strategy and objective.
  • Develop and implement annual work plans, practices and programs related to talent management, workforce planning, performance management, people and leadership development, and change management, ensuring that all activities and initiatives are aligned with Human Resource business plan and strategy
  • Facilitate the implementation of planned initiatives and provide key metrics to ensure effectiveness of interventions
  • Monitor and report on HR strategy execution using defined KPIs and metrics
  • Drive digital transformation, automation and data analytics., and leverage HR analytics and digital tools for strategic decision-making.

2. Performance management

  • Oversee the performance management processes of the bank, providing guidance on performance management improvement plans and employee development to improve productivity of staff using the Balanced score card methodology.
  • Identify capability gaps and engage for targeted development programs.

3.Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage a team of Human Resource Business Partners, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure they effectively support their respective business needs and challenges.
  • Coach leaders and line managers become increasingly more effective at leading, managing and developing their units, teams, employees and their cross-functional relationships.

4.Resourcing and Org Design

  • Support adequate and timely resourcing of Units and alignments to the desired Org structure for the Banks strategy.
  • Contribute to update of the Head Office and Branch successor pool and closure of development actions.

5.Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build a strong relationship with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the bank to understand business needs and challenges

6.Talent Management

  • Actively participate in talent Acquisition, development and retention strategies, working with HRBPs to identify and address talent gaps.
  • Drive talent operating mechanisms across the organization in all the disciplines and functional areas (i.e.: performance management, organization and talent reviews, workforce planning, rewards philosophy and programs, staff productivity, and workforce realignment etc.).
  • Champion Diversity, Equity and inclusiveness initiatives
  • Champion of the Organisations ESG initiatives.

7.Change Management

  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives, ensuring that Human Resource practices are adapted to support new structures, processes or business models and strategic goals.
  • Partner with the business leadership team to Influence thinking, challenge and identify opportunities to adopt HR best practices and guide them in the effective management of people to improve engagement level and optimize on their contribution.
  • Help business leadership team understand levers that reinforce a winning culture, drive engagement and create high-quality employee experience

8.Employee Engagement

  • Engage employees and address employee relations issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

9.Compliance

  • Ensure that Human Resource practices comply with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Undertake needed activities to enable effective management of Human Resource related risks, audit concerns.

10.Driving organizational Effectiveness

  • Work with HRBPs to identify areas for improvement in Human Resource processes and practice driving efficiency and effectiveness.

11.HR Strategy development

  • Contribute to the development of the overall Human Resource strategy,
  • Translate Strategic Orientations of the business into HRM operational plans to deliver solutions aligned to business objectives ensuring it aligns with the business strategy and support organization goals

12.Budgeting and Reward Management

  • Coordinate, develop and monitor the bank’s Annual Staff and Cost Budget implementation,
  • Monitor headcount and implement and follow up interventions needed to ensure due alignment.
  • Participate in quarterly reviews of the Incentive scheme.

13.Capability development

  • Participate in quarterly reviews of the Incentive scheme.
  • Support in consolidation of Training Needs from
  • Support development actions for staff in new roles.
  • Contribute to update of the Head Office and Branch successor pool.
  • Undertake the recognition and reward scheme.

Occasional duties.

  • Participate in selected Management Committees as delegated by the General Manager Human Resource.
  • Participate in Quarterly Senior Management meetings (QMM), Employee engagement activities with EXCO members at branches, representing HRD on operational and/or strategic Issues.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of HRM, Social sciences, Organisational psychology, or other relevant degree
  • A Master’s degree is considered an added advantage.
Required Experience and Competences:
  • At least 5 years of practical and progressive experience in an HR management role at a Senior level in a reputable organisation preferably in a financial institution or FMCG.
  • Hands-on experience in HR Business partnering and in using the balanced scorecard as a performance management tool is an added advantage.
