JOB DETAILS:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic direction and operational excellence of the entire finance function. This role goes beyond traditional accounting to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board, providing critical insights to inform business decisions, manage risk, and capitalize on growth opportunities. The CFO will lead, mentor, and integrate a high-performing team of finance professionals to ensure the company's financial health and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:
- Partner with the CEO and other executives on strategy development, evaluation of new business opportunities, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and long-term planning.
- Translate business strategies into clear financial plans and performance metrics.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize profitability, operational efficiency, and market positioning.
- Act as a key liaison with the Board of Directors, investors, and financial institutions.
2. Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting (Overseeing Management Accountant & Plant Accountant):
- Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts, KPIs, and variance analysis to all business units.
- Oversee cost accounting and product profitability analysis, particularly through the Plant Accountant for manufacturing operations.
- Develop and monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
3. Accounting, Compliance & Control (Overseeing Financial Controller):
- Ensure the integrity and timeliness of all financial reporting, including GAAP/IFRS compliance.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure a clean audit opinion.
4. Treasury & Capital Management (Overseeing Treasury Manager):
- Develop and execute strategies for cash management, working capital optimization, and risk management.
- Manage banking relationships and negotiate debt and equity financing.
- Oversee foreign exchange, interest rate, and other financial risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the company maintains adequate liquidity to meet its operational and strategic needs.
5. Internal Audit & Risk Management (Overseeing Internal Auditor):
- Oversee the internal audit function to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate key financial, operational, and strategic risks.
- Develop and implement enterprise risk management frameworks.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure clear objectives (OKRs/KPIs) are set for all direct reports and that the team is structured effectively to support business needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA and/or CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or equivalent highly preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5-7 years in an executive CFO or VP of Finance role.
- Industry: Proven experience in the [Your Industry, e.g., manufacturing, technology, etc.] sector is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in GAAP/IFRS, financial modeling, strategic planning, corporate finance, and risk management. ERP system implementation experience a plus (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
