About Us

The Coalition Against Trafficking in Persons Uganda (CATIPU) is a national network of over 40 civil society organizations working together to create a society free from human trafficking. Through consultation, coordination, cooperation, and advocacy, CATIPU strengthens the collective voice and action of CSOs to prevent trafficking, protect victims, and promote justice.

Our members engage in a range of anti-trafficking initiatives, including victim support, legal aid, justice system strengthening, community sensitization, and policy advocacy. CATIPU also partners closely with government agencies, international organizations, and development partners to influence policy and advance survivor-centered anti-trafficking reforms.

Mission:

Civil society organizations and government agencies partnering effectively to combat human trafficking and support its victims through prevention, protection, and prosecution.

The Role

The CEO provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and governance support for CATIPU. The role ensures effective coordination among coalition members, partners, and government agencies to advance the mission of combating human trafficking through advocacy, capacity-building, and coalition-strengthening initiatives. The CEO oversees program delivery, financial sustainability, member engagement, and organizational compliance.

Details of the Key Areas and Responsibilities

1) Strategic Leadership & Governance (20%):

Provide vision, support the Board in policy development, oversee compliance, and facilitate coalition decision-making.

2) Coalition Coordination & Member Relations (15%):

Strengthen partnerships, promote member engagement, and represent CATIPU at national, regional, and international forums.

3) Program Development & Delivery (15%):

Lead planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of coalition activities, including national advocacy events.

4) Resource Mobilization & Financial Sustainability (15%):

Lead fundraising, donor engagement, and development of in-kind contributions.

5) Secretariat & HR Management (15%):

Supervise Secretariat staff, oversee recruitment, performance, and professional development.

6) Advocacy, Communications & Representation (10%):

Serve as principal spokesperson, strengthen partnerships, and champion survivor-centered policies.

7) Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (10%):

Ensure results-based management, quality reporting, and continuous improvement.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Law, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Leadership, Management, or related field (optional).
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive leadership experience in civil society, coalition, or network management.
  • Proven experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization.
  • Strong understanding of anti-human trafficking frameworks and policies.
  • Track record in organizational development and strategic communication.
