Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and reliable Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. Applicants should be passionate about food, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present food according to menu specifications and company standards
- Ensure all meals are prepared on time and with consistent quality
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures
- Keep workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas clean and organized
- Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality before use
- Assist with portion control and minimising food waste
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and kitchen policies
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Report equipment faults, shortages, or food safety risks immediately
- Comply with health, safety, and company regulations at all times
Food Safety & Hygiene Requirements
- Strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Proper handwashing, use of protective clothing, and personal cleanliness
- Safe handling of raw and cooked foods to prevent cross-contamination
- Correct storage of food items (FIFO method)
- Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly
- Immediate reporting of any contamination, spoilage, or health risks
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (restaurant, hotel, or production kitchen)
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, disciplined, and punctual
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and events
- Culinary training or certification is an added advantage
