Job Summary

We are seeking skilled and reliable Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. Applicants should be passionate about food, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present food according to menu specifications and company standards
  • Ensure all meals are prepared on time and with consistent quality
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures
  • Keep workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas clean and organized
  • Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality before use
  • Assist with portion control and minimising food waste
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and kitchen policies
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
  • Report equipment faults, shortages, or food safety risks immediately
  • Comply with health, safety, and company regulations at all times

Food Safety & Hygiene Requirements

  • Strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations
  • Proper handwashing, use of protective clothing, and personal cleanliness
  • Safe handling of raw and cooked foods to prevent cross-contamination
  • Correct storage of food items (FIFO method)
  • Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly
  • Immediate reporting of any contamination, spoilage, or health risks

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (restaurant, hotel, or production kitchen)
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, disciplined, and punctual
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and events
  • Culinary training or certification is an added advantage
