An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Registered Mental Health Nurse to a Band 6 Charge Nurse post within Midpark Hospital in Dumfries.

Midpark is the region’s Acute Mental Health Hospital which provides inpatient healthcare for patients with a variety of complex mental health needs across 6 wards.

Initially this post will be based within Glencairn Ward. Glencairn Ward supports patients with an older adult functional mental health presentation. The team works collaboratively and in full partnership with the MDT, patients, carers, universities, volunteers and our third sector partners to provide high quality, safe and effective, person centred care.

The main purpose and responsibility of this role is to provide strong clinical leadership, coaching and supervision to a dedicated team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of high standards of care. The Charge Nurse will also deputise in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse.

The role includes shift and weekend working.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the role of Nominated Hospital Lead for the hospital, along with Escort on Call duties.
