The Cashier at GS Construction Company is responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth payment processing. This role requires attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and excellent customer service to support the company’s financial operations

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Process cash, credit, and electronic payments for company transactions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile daily cash balances.
  • Prepare and issue receipts, invoices, and payment confirmations.
  • Assist in tracking expenses and petty cash management.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team for financial reporting and audits.
  • Address customer and vendor inquiries related to payments.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills in handling transactions.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in cash handling, payment processing, or financial transactions

Technical Skills:

  •  Proficiency in bank reconciliation, invoicing, and petty cash management.
  • Cash handling and reconciliation techniques.
  • Basic bookkeeping for financial tracking.
  • Excel and financial reporting tools for transaction management.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations related to payments and invoicing.
  • Point-of-Sale (POS) system proficiency for processing transactions.

 

Additional Skills:

  • Electronic payment processing including mobile banking and online transfers.
  • Bank reconciliation to match company financial records with bank statements.
  • Inventory tracking integration for financial accuracy.
  • Fraud detection and risk mitigation strategies for secure transactions.
  • Knowledge of financial auditing principles to assist in compliance checks.
  • Data entry accuracy and management for financial reports.

Reporting Structure:

The operation manager will report directly to the Finance manager and collaborate closely with site and office engineers, architects, operators and other members of the company’s team.
