Job Summary:

The Cashier at Spes Medical Center will be responsible for handling financial transactions efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will ensure a smooth and friendly interaction with patients and their families, maintaining the highest level of customer service and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Handling:

• Process payments from patients for medical services and prescriptions.
• Accurately handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and electronic payments.
• Ensure proper issuance of receipts to patients.

Customer Service:

• Greet and assist patients with inquiries regarding billing and payments.
• Provide information about payment options and insurance processing.
• Address and resolve patient billing concerns in a courteous and professional manner.

Financial Management:

• Maintain accurate records of daily transactions.
• Reconcile cash drawers and report discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit daily financial reports to the finance department.

Administrative Support:

• Assist with the preparation of invoices and billing statements.
• Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records.

Compliance:

• Ensure all financial transactions comply with the medical center's policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing regulations and insurance policies.

Qualifications:

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent; additional training in accounting or finance is an advantage.
• Experience: Prior experience as a cashier or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting will put you at an advantage.

Skills:

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in using cash registers and financial software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
• Good organizational and multitasking abilities.

Working Conditions:

• The cashier will work in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced medical environment.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• May occasionally be required to work evenings, overtime, weekends, or holidays depending on the needs of the medical center.
