CALL FOR YOUNG ENGINEERING INNOVATORS
The Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) is a professional engineering body that was established in 1972 to bring together Engineers, Technologists Technicians in Uganda.
The mandate of the Institution is to,
Promote Engineering and facilitate the exchange of ideas amongst its members. Nature and develop Engineers to take on professional responsibilities in Uganda and Beyond.
Promote Engineering professional ethics and guide policy matters of an Engineering nature.
In executing its work, UIPE in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Engineers, UK is implementing the Africa Catalyst Phase 5 Project titled 'Strengthening the Institutional
Framework of UIPE to Advance the Contribution of Engineering Professionals to Innovation Value Chain in Uganda'. One of the project's planned activities is to conduct the Business Development Support Services training (Entrepreneurship skills) for Young Engineering Innovators.

Eligible candidates are Young Engineering Innovators with innovative ideas that capture a successful implementation of a new idea that creates value for customers and other stakeholders. Examples include a plan for an improved product or service, an updated method for running your operations, or it could also be a business model. All innovations must be geared towards solving community problems and should be linked to the Sustainable Development Goals.
UIPE invites applications for Young Engineering Innovators to participate in a three-day Business Development Support Services training (Entrepreneurship skills). The training will cover all costs except transport and accommodation.

The date and venue for the training will be communicated to successful applicants and women who meet these criteria are encouraged to apply.
