About The Company

The company is the world’s leading off-grid solar energy company, combining cutting-edge product design, fintech, and field operations to deliver energy access for the 1.8 billion people who live without an affordable and reliable electric grid connection. the company has connected more than 20 million homes to solar power across Africa and Asia, adding over 200,000 homes each month.

The company makes solar products affordable to low-income households and businesses via ‘pay-as-you-go’ purchase financing. The company installs solar after customers pay a small deposit. Customers then make small, manageable payments of as little as US $0.11 a day via mobile money or cash.

Instead of paying for expensive, polluting, and health-damaging kerosene for lighting or diesel for power, customers unlock savings through accessing solar power and after one to two years of payments, customers own their solar equipment outright. To date, our company's solar products have saved customers more than $4 billion cumulatively.

The company collects payments digitally through mobile money systems and its 28,000 field agents — over 650,000 payments each day. Embedded electronics inside each company device regulate usage based on payments, similar to the operation of a pre-paid mobile or electricity meter.

From cost-effective solar systems that provide home lighting and phone charging to robust solar inverters that can power high-energy appliances such as laptops, computers, refrigerators, and more, effectively acting as a full stand-in for grid power, the company’s products cater to a wide range of income segments and energy needs. Leveraging its proven distribution network and brand, the company is expanding its range of products and services to encompass clean cooking, electric mobility, entertainment, and more, aiming to address the needs of our underserved customers.

The Role:

The Business Transformation Senior Analyst - Uganda & Kenya at the company will oversee diverse transformation initiatives across projects and pilot management, process improvement, digital transformation, product innovation, expansion, and market research.

What you would be expected to do;

Change Management:

  • Steer change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and systems across the organization.
  • Develop and execute strategies to manage organizational change effectively, including stakeholder communication and training programs.

Project and Pilot Management:

  • Manage and execute a range of projects and pilots, from conception to scale-up, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Utilize best-fit project management methodologies to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Digital Transformation:

  • Spearhead digital transformation projects, identifying opportunities for technological innovation and process automation.
  • Cofunction with tech teams to implement digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

Product Innovation:

  • Drive product innovation initiatives, from ideation to launch, contributing to the company's portfolio diversification and revenue streams.
  • Cofunction with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.

Expansion Management:

  • Motivate and manage expansion initiatives into new markets, strategizing and executing plans for successful market entry and growth.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve expansion goals, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader strategic goals.

Market Research:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and queries in current and potential markets.
  • Study market data to inform strategic rulings, including product positioning, market entry strategies, and business rival strategies.

Process Improvement:

  • Inquire about existing business processes and systems, identifying areas for enhancement and efficiency gains.
  • Design and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.

Problem Solving and Business Acumen:

  • Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to tackle complex business queries.
  • Leverage data and findings to inform solutions and drive continuous improvement in a business setting.

Requirements

You might be a strong candidate if you have/are:

  • Have 3 or more years of professional experience in a fast-paced organization in areas related to process management, setting up operations, and working closely with cross-functional teams with a track record of success, where you developed skills in at least 4 of the following areas:
