Job Summary
The purpose of the role is to provide executive support to the Credit Director and facilitate the pan-credit strategic agenda along with providing administrative support to the Credit Function.
The role entails providing specialist advice and support in the development and implementation of business planning and associated service delivery processes, methods and techniques; enabling the provision of sound planning/forecasting services.
Job Description
Strategic
• Responsible for delivering effective governance and strategy consolidation within the overall credit function i.e providing a pan-bank view on all Credit functions (Retail, Business Banking, Corporate Credit and Business Support & Recoveries) with capability to challenge fellow executives effectively.
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Country and Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and support with ensuring alignment of pan-operations to the same.
• Work with the key credit stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment of goals and achievement of plans. Identify market trends and chart the path forward on strategic shifts required.
• Provide data driven insights into the Credit function along with forward-looking views for the betterment of the unit’s value.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop actionable plans that support the credit strategic vision. Ensure that resources, timelines, and responsibilities are aligned to achieve objectives.
• Continuously monitor the progress of strategic initiatives and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track success and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide support to the Head of Credit in terms of presentations/ M.I reports for senior management and key stakeholders, in country and for Group.
• Develop and implement the overall Credit communication plan, to raise awareness and the profile of the Credit function around the businesses.
• Arranging key Head of Credit meetings including producing agendas and co-ordinating the production of inputs.
• Lead and deliver Special Credit projects to drive performance or take corrective action
• Maintaining a close view and briefing the Credit Director on any key issues impacting the function and/or industry
• Investigating key issues further and/or items requiring signoff by Credit Director
• Provide ongoing support to the Credit Management team. This includes outlining their role in the functioning of Credit Function and coaching the team through processes / deliverables where required. The overall objective is to make sure the Credit Function runs as smoothly and effectively as possible
• Oversee the Credit training initiatives and academy team
Credit Enablement support
• Build a strong Risk/Coverage/Operations/Service Delivery partnership that will deliver superior customer experience
• Manage service level agreements with internal customers
• Monitor the Credit Function costs within agreed budgets
• Embedding and coordinating change to ensure smooth transition to BAU
• Provide input into the projects on Credit requirements
• Guide and support key stakeholders in our business areas on all matters relating to credit risk
• Support operations of the different governance committees that oversee credit risk
• Co-ordinate the Functional Reward and Recognition for Credit
• Follow up on action items from the various committees/meetings attended by the Credit
Director. These include among others CMC, ALCO, Board Credit Committee, Board Risk Committee, Management Credit Committee, MBR, PQRs for Retail, BB and Corporate Credit, Watchlist and Impaired Debt Committee, Credit Top Team Meeting, ARO Credit Governance, Infrastructure and Control Forum, EWL 1,2&3 meetings for BB and CIB, RRR meetings for BB and CIB, Retail Collections & Recoveries Meeting
• Manage the Organizational structure of the Credit function and responsibility for People Change management in the Workday system
• Ensure activities are planned that support employee engagement within the Credit team
• Develop and deliver action plans for Colleague experience and Employee NPS / Advocacy initiatives
• Producing minutes from key Head of Credit meetings and follow up actions from all minutes produced.
• Working in collaboration with HR to position departments within the Credit function to drive efficiency
• Support the Credit Director to manage all logistical requirements
Education
Bachelors Degree and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
