Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to implement strategies to increase company sales and profits. They identify profitable business opportunities, secure sound business deals, and support Business Development through growing the Assets Under Management and maintaining relationships with BAM Uganda Clients and agents. The role holder will report to Business Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively work with your supervisor in the analysis of the performance of the Business Development function and propose and implement initiatives for the growth of the Business Development function.
- Periodically conducting market review and analysis of the asset management industry to drive business performance
- Review Prepare accurate and competitive bids and proposals for the asset management business
- Processing of tenders and ensuring their timely submission
- Follow-up existing clients to ensure business retention is optimised and the prescribed retention ratio is achieved
- Effective relationship management to drive sustained business relationships with BAM Uganda’s stakeholders
- Driving Sales generated by the BAM Agents and Sales Consultants to achieve sales targets
- Ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements
- Liaise and support the agents/consultants to ensure adherence to company policies and achievement of business targets
- Support on onboarding and trainings agents/consultants to enable them sell effectively
- Ensure preparation of client proposals on a timely basis
- Maintaining relationship with the Britam network to ensure sales target are met
- Provide Customers with high service standards
- Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
- Performs any other duties as required

Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer/software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience working with diverse teams
- Experience working in the financial services sector with focus on business development is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with the asset management and financial services industry in Uganda is essential.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills are paramount
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- An understanding of financial analysis and investment principles is beneficial.
- Ability to network effectively and build relationships with potential clients, industry professionals, and key stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.
- A results-driven and goal-oriented mindset is important.
