JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
The overall job purpose is to develop a profitable Asset Management portfolio in Britam Asset Managers Uganda. This will involve overseeing the implementation of business objectives and establishing and providing leadership to the business development function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To develop a competent business development team that will deliver BAM’s strategic growth objectives.
2. Develop and implement business development strategic plan will enable delivery of BAM’s growth and market penetration targets
3. Continuously identify potential clients and implement business growth opportunities to achieve the business targets
4. Supporting the development and implementation of high quality products and prepare the market for new product introductions and a product smooth roll out.
5. Be a brand ambassador and implement BAM’s brand strategy in liaison with Marketing & Communications teams.
6. Monitoring the management of client portfolios to drive client retention and ensure growth and profitability of the same
7. Timely preparation and submission of departmental reports
8. Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business
9. Act as the business’s liaison between the business and clients
10. Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
12. Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments’ strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal Scorecard.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
2. 8+ years successful relevant experience, 5 of which must be in a management position (financial services sector preferred).
3. Results orientated with the ability to set KPIs and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
4. Resilient, dynamic, energetic, and enthusiastic. Must be highly driven and enjoy working with people.
5. Able to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to foster and maintain successful working relationships
6. Digital marketing experience, preferably in a related industry
7. Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level
8. Excellent communicator with the ability to effectively articulate BAM’s strategy and product offerings;
9. Possess outstanding analytical & problem solving capacity;
