We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead Optica’s growth in Uganda. The role is responsible for driving strategic partnerships, expanding our insurance and corporate panel presence, and ensuring strong market positioning. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building high-value relationships, ensuring smooth operations with internal teams, and identifying opportunities for expansion and brand visibility.
Responsibilities
- Secure and maintain Optica’s inclusion on panels of ALL insurance providers offering optical coverage, including private insurers and parastatal companies
- Develop and execute outreach programs to promote the Optica brand across Uganda, both with Insurance companies and other Private and government/Parastatals.
- Build strong relationships with insurance companies, private corporations, and parastatals to expand business opportunities and increase the business volume we are getting from them per month.
- Collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure timely payments from insurance and corporate clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure we are in line with the market trends and competition with the competitors and not out of the way. Also, to assist in identifying growth opportunities, including potential new sites for us to open outlets in Uganda.
- Assisting in identifying Marketing and Brand building opportunities, be it offline or online, to spread the Optica brand and get more awareness and thus more potential walk-ins to our stores.
- Engage regularly with Optica staff across various levels to ensure alignment with company goals and values, and to identify and address any operational or communication challenges they may be facing
- Prepare Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports and updates for senior management on business development progress and activities taken and closed with clear timelines.
