Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and driving strategic partnerships across Uganda’s healthcare and diagnostics sector. He/She will lead initiatives that recover lost business, position MediLab as a preferred diagnostics partner, and open new accounts

Job Description/Requirements

Some of the key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities with hospitals, universities, clinics, and private labs.
  • Re-engaging past clients with a recovery strategy rooted in trust, transparency, and product excellence.
  • Leading the design and implementation of sales and marketing strategies aligned with MediLab’s growth objectives.
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis to inform decision-making and product positioning.
  • Representing the company in stakeholder meetings, product demos, and trade exhibitions.
  • Collaborating with technical and operational teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Managing key accounts and build long-term partnerships with public and private healthcare institutions.
  • Reporting on market trends, revenue forecasts, and client feedback to management.
  • Carrying out product evaluation on both the existing and future products and advise management on new market trends.
  • Conducting feasibility studies for branch expansion or relocation.
  • Training junior salespeople to improve sales goals and meet expectations.
