Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead, drive and advise on clients and markets development activity across Uganda. This role will focus on developing opportunities arising from the combination of our strengths as a full service law firm and our leading reputation in these areas. The emphasis will also be on enhancing current marketing processes and developing new ones to deliver an efficient service to the business. This role is key in supporting a dynamic business that aims to change the very business of law.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to and implement regional Marketing Business Development & Communications plan
• Prepare and implement Uganda Clients & Markets, Marketing and Communications
• plan aligned with regional plan
• Contribute to identification of Business Development and sales opportunities
• Develop and manage business development budgets, ensuring appropriate expenditure and return on investment.
• Manage and coordinate bids and guide associates on preparing overflow bids
• Prepare client proposals (global, regional or Uganda when lead jurisdiction)
• Support the preparation of proposals for other Africa and non-Africa jurisdictions (when non-lead jurisdiction)
• Populate Global Creds Bank with Uganda creds
• Provide Uganda practice and sector capabilities descriptions
• Prepare client lists and identify cross-selling opportunities
• Upload Uganda content to Global Proposal Generator; provide ongoing pitch statistics to partners
• Collect and distribute successes of the Uganda team members via various internals channels
• Organize client events (in-person or virtual)
• Prepare local brochures and support preparation of regional brochures
• Follow schedule, compile information, draft and file directory and award
• submissions, including referee identification and follow up
• Capture data for the Client Academy and other global projects (e.g. Covid, New Dynamic, client listening)
• Provide practice area/group support (locally and regionally, and globally when so decided)
• Business intel (regular reports and ad hoc requests)
• Maintain website content including CVs
• Publish alerts / news in media and social media
• Implement strategic projects, including client listening and client care
• Prepare and implement communications strategy
• Coaching/training for client meetings
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Academic Qualifications
• Degree in Law or Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of business development or marketing experience in a professional service environment, ideally within a law firm.
• Proven track record of achieving business development targets.
• Previous experience in a managerial role, with strong leadership skills.
• Experience using CRM systems.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and willing to learn new tools.
• Commitment to continual improvement, innovation, and high ethical standards.
• Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.

Technical Experience and Skills
• Significant CMMC experience working in a professional services environment
• Management and leadership skills are a must
• Experience of developing and implementing business and marketing plans, including budgeting
• Experience of creating and rolling out marketing campaigns
• Understanding of the basics of data driven and digital marketing
• Experience of driving through change in a challenging environment.
