JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
As the Branch Manager you will be tasked with assigning and directing all work performed in the branch and to supervise all areas of forex operations. You will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper branch operation. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Oversee the day-day workflow of the branch (50%)
Manage the day-day trading of the Forex bureau and ensure its profitability:
• Custodian of the Branch keys and logins- responsible for opening and closing of the branch
• Starting and ending of the tellers each day in the Fabit system.
• Responsible for teller cash levels, which includes additions to tellers, verifying cash received, withdrawals, filling of teller transaction receipts, maintaining full teller security, and balancing teller cash
• monitor and share all teller balance, authorize any cash movement in and out of the branch either from the teller or vault.
• Establish the most competitive market rates to sell foreign currencies and maximizing returns
• Trading of currency with banks at negotiated rates through the Fabit system.
• Investigate and report any teller shortages or excesses to the CEO and HR for recovery and necessary disciplinary action.
• Confirmation and changing of daily board rates based on inter banks rates.
• Liaise with other branches to share strategies.
• Provide daily verification of teller transactions, balance accounts and liaise with the Finance manager for preparations of financial reports
• Maintaining branch petty cash.
• Review teller Fabit & remittance reports.
Learning, Growth & People Management (20%)
Train employees and evaluate their performances:
• Ensure that the tellers are cross-trained in all phases of their responsibilities to ensure high quality service to customers.
• Supervision of the daily functions and activities of the tellers.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of branch staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
• Provide training and professional development opportunities to branch staff.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and set individual and team goals.
• Ensure staff compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Customer Relationship Management (20%)
Create and maintain good relationships with clients:
• Negotiates rates with customers while striking a balance between customer satisfaction and company FX profits.
• Respond to customers’ requests, problems, and concerns, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance
• Provide routine information and explaining to customers any changes in charges, transactions fee and remittance services.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, resolving any issues or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, including individuals, businesses, and corporate accounts.
• Educate clients on forex rates, remittance services, and related products to enhance customer satisfaction.
Compliance to Regulations (10%)
• Ensure that Due diligence is carried out by tellers through proper KYC for all Western Union, MoneyGram, Flexapp, Mpesa transactions and FX transactions.
• Safeguard companies and customer cash from fraud and identity theft through carrying out surprise checks and cash counts.
• Maintain the approved branch cash level as per insurance policies
• Report any suspicious activities/transactions (fake currencies) by walk-in clients in the branch.
• Raise with the compliance/MLRO in case of a PEP customer before carrying out a transaction
• Issue declaration forms to customers changing amounts exceeding usd5000 and ensure that customer provide supporting evidence.
• Ensure the branch is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements and industry standards, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and other financial regulations.
• Maintain proper controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks and ensure security.
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of all branch accounts and records.
Carry out any other duties or special assignments as assigned by the CEO, Deputy CEO & Head of Operations.
Qualifications and Education
Minimum of a Diploma in any business-related fields
At least 3 Years experience as a manager in a forex bureau or experience working in a Forex department of a commercial bank or a micro finance
