Bayimba Cultural Foundation is a multiple-branched organization that focuses on uplifting arts and culture in Uganda through cultural exchange and creativity. The Foundation hosts high-quality arts festivals, offers training courses and workshops for aspiring artists, and facilitates creative development. It strives to reach as wide an audience as possible, reaching all age groups and income levels. Bayimba is unique in its multidisciplinary approach combined with its engaging efforts to “explore and experience”.

Job brief
We are looking for a passionate Research and Administration Officer to plan and oversee the organization’s Administration and Research activities and campaigns. You will be the one to ensure that our Festival/Events/Volunteer activities are well planned and researched about to ensure their success in meeting the goals set by the Foundation. The Administration officer must have great enthusiasm for this duty and great knowledge of relevant techniques and principles. The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator and will have experience in managing different organizational emails and official communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Liaise with the Finance Administrator to make narrative Donor reports for each reporting period
• Make Foundation Annual narrative reports in liaison with the Executive Director.
• Carry out Monitoring and evaluation after all Bayimba Events ( Bayimba Festival, Comedy Weekends, DOADOA, Amakula, Raggea Festival)
• Receive and attend to Visitors
• Answer telephone calls and transfer to appropriate staff member
• Manage the general office email account
• Maintain staff schedules (agenda and leave)
• Perform general clerical duties, including photocopying and mailing
• Maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems
• Maintain a database of all contacts
• Maintain records of office assets and inventories
• Interested research and data collection and analysis
• Organize and coordinate research activities of the Foundation
• Improve up research and data collection methodology
• Support the finance and administrator in making daily transactions and financial operations
• Provide office orientation to new team members
• Write final impact assessment report (evaluation) and narrative reports.
• Carry out data analysis and interpretation.
• Other duties assigned

Required qualifications:
• BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field
• Proven experience as an administration officer or similar role
• Solid knowledge of Administrational and Research techniques and principles
• Good understanding of market research techniques, statistical and data analysis methods
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and use of e-mails
• Thorough understanding of social media and web analytics
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Creativity and commercial awareness
• A team player with a customer-oriented approach
• Knowledge and/or proven interest in relevant Art and Culture industry
• Familiarity with publicity, media and communications research
• Strong experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr etc.)
