Position An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Services Stores Operative based at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours As and When Required hours per week.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings. UK Driving Licence A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do To provide and maintain an efficient, cost-effective storage and distribution service within Ayrshire & Arran. The post holder will drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle with tail lift to deliver orders to multiple sites throughout Ayrshire. The post holder will also be responsible in assisting with the unloading of goods from National Distribution Service.
The post holder must hold a valid UK driving licence with C1 category along with current CPC driver qualification card and adhere to digital tachograph regulations.

Experience with 7.5 tone delivery driving with tail lift would be advantageous but not essential. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and good communication skills are essential. You will have good communication, verbal or otherwise and practical skills
Required to attend Corporate Induction including completion of Mandatory Learn Pro Modules. Required to undertake departmental job training including the operation of equipment and safe use of manual handling equipment to support deliveries to a wide range of Ayrshire and Arran locations and is also required to be proficient in and undertake training in the following:
Safe Systems of Work/Work Schedules
Departmental Risk Assessments (COSHH, General, Moving and Handling & First aid)
Codes of Practice/Infection Control Guidelines
Fire safety awareness
Use of PPE
Waste Management
Linen Bagging Policy
Security Procedures
Datix
Job Shadowing
Driver declaration form
Organisational Policies
