Job Vacancy: Bamboo Sales Representative

About Amabanda Uganda Ltd. (Amabanda)
Amabanda has the aspiration to boost the bamboo industry in Uganda. It is a start-up company
that manufactures semi and fully processed products from bamboo. The company will initially
focus on the treatment of round bamboo poles for the construction industry and the production
of strips and stick based bamboo products (e.g. fencing, plywood, floor tiles, straws).
We are looking for an all-round, passionate bamboo lover that wants to sell the first
bamboo products in Uganda.

Objectives of the Positions
The Sales Representative is responsible for using her/his knowledge of company products or
services to connect with consumers and generate sales for their employer. Her/his duties include
developing sales pitches to sell products or services, making cold calls to sales leads or taking
calls from prospective customers and maintaining documentation of their sales like invoices or
client contracts.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

1. This will include but not be limited to the following:
2. Be knowledgeable about the product;
3. Identify prospective customers, lead generation and conversion;
4. Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs;
5. Emphasize the features of products to highlight how they solve customer problems;
6. Answer questions about the products;
7. Negotiate prices and terms and prepare sales agreements;
8. Collaborate with colleagues in many different sectors;
9. Maintain contact lists and follow up with customers to continue relationships;
10. Promote a culture of both high performance and integrity;
11. Perform any other duties as required;
12. ...and most of all enjoy pioneering with us.

1. Good English skills;
2. Proven sales experience;
3. Proven customer service skills;
4. Interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people each day, build relationships and
5. network;
6. Confidence and strong self-assuredness to succeed in cold-calling customers and making a
sale;

1. Communication skills, especially persuasion, to clearly convey the benefits of a product to
2. potential customers
3. Physical endurance, as Sales Representatives may need to be on their feet for long hours,
4. spend a lot of time traveling between locations and carry heavy products
5. Computer literacy;
6. An open, flexible and innovative working style;
7. Commitment to the values of Amabanda (i.e. ethical, collaboration, innovation & impact);
8. Must be gender sensitive.
