T he International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking for a Gardener for the CIP office in Kampala, Uganda.

One CGIAR science is dedicated to transforming food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis, and it is carried out by 13 CGIAR Centers/Alliances in close collaboration with hundreds of partners, including national and regional research institutes, civil society organizations, academia, development organizations and the private sector.

The Position

The selected candidate will report to the Administrative Assistant II. He/She will assume the following duties and responsibilities:

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensuring the CIP-Uganda office compound is well maintained by trimming the plants, weeding around them and watering in especially dry season
• Liaising with garbage collector to remove all rubbish around the office.
• Manage the flowers, removing old ones and planting new ones.
• Clearing water-ways for smooth flow of water off the compound.
• Check the compound for any issues like water leakage, perimeter wall in case of cracks on the wall and wire fence in case of attempts to break through.
• Clean the vehicles at the office.
• Oversee the function of the office generator for fuel top up.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
