Job Summary:
St. Joseph's Technical Institute - Virika is seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Workshop Foreman to manage the day-to-day technical operations of our automotive workshop. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient workflow, high-quality standards, and a safe working environment. This role requires technical expertise, leadership abilities, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Supervision:
Oversee and guide the work of automotive technicians and mechanics, ensuring all tasks are completed to high-quality standards.
Workflow Coordination:
Organize and prioritize repair and maintenance tasks to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Quality Control:
Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets safety and performance standards.
Training and Development:
Provide ongoing training and support to workshop staff, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Tool and Equipment Management:
Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all staff.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate with customers to provide updates on repair status, explain technical issues, and address any concerns.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Problem Solving:
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, providing guidance and support to technicians.
Reports to: The Automotive Workshop Foreman reports directly to the Automotive Workshop Manager.
Requirements:
Education: Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role within the automotive industry.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge and practical competencies in automotive repair and maintenance processes.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer Focus: Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently.
