JOB DETAILS:
ASA Microfinance Uganda Limited is an affiliate of ASA international Holding which is registered in Mauritius (“ASA International”). ASA International (www.asa-international.com) is a holding company that owns and operates microfinance institutions in different countries — in Africa & Asia. The company currently has foo (Hundred) branches in Uganda. The major objective of ASA Microfinance (Uganda) Limited is to offer affordable, flexible and need-responsive micro-finance products and services to the economically active poor people in Uganda. We are seeking to fill full time positions with intelligent, long-term, committed, self-motivated and energetic individuals to join ASA Uganda.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Handle corporation Tax, and other statutory deductions and ensure they are computed accurately and remitted in time, such as PAYE, local service tax, withholding tax and NSSF.
• Preparation of reports required by the respective government departments and ensure compliance at all times. Prepare monthly reports on Tax compliance and other statutory requirements
• Handle treasury and cash flow projections
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments to third parties, including lenders. Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports to management, head office, lenders and other stakeholders
• Check accuracy of transactions
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Any other duty assigned by management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Should hold a Bachelor’s degree accounting or related field Professional qualification in Accounting; must have CPA/ACCA
• Must have experience in tax management and treasury management.
• Experience in the tax department of an audit firm will be an added advantage
• At least 2 years’ experience with financial or microfinance institution will be an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and Local Tax laws
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and
• accounting applications
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Integrity & trustworthy.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
