Role Overview
The Asset Care Reliability Leader will be responsible for implementing maintenance strategies to enhance the reliability of plant machinery, reduce downtime, and optimize operational efficiency. The role requires a proactive approach to managing technical standards, ensuring equipment functionality, and driving cost-saving initiatives across production areas, including Brewing, Spirits, Packaging, Utilities, and Automation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability
o Drive EISC standards in maintenance to reduce breakdowns, improve efficiency, and standardize procedures.
o Lead improvement projects in Spirits, Brewing, Packaging, Utility, and Automation for cost reduction and efficiency.
o Oversee and enhance automation systems and plant control across multiple sections.
Project & Contractor Management
o Develop URS and CBP documents for procurement processes and support the evaluation and tendering of contractors.
o Control and monitor project activities, ensuring adherence to technical and safety standards.
Procurement & Stores Management
o Generate technical specifications for spare part purchases and validate spares upon receipt.
o Perform criticality analysis to optimize spare parts inventory.
Financial & Cost Control
o Collaborate with Finance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
o Maintain accountability for budget and assets across all site machinery and facilities.
Safety & Compliance
o Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance in all engineering activities.
o Implement a zero-harm culture through safety training and permit-to-work systems.
Leadership & Training
o Train and develop team competencies for cross-functional support.
o Provide technical guidance to operators and engineering staff to maintain best practices in operations.
Dimensions of Responsibility
Financial: Budget management and asset accountability for all site equipment.
• Key Metrics:
• 100% plant availability and compliance with asset care standards.
• CI improvement of 20% and adherence to GRMS and LEG standards.
• Performance rate >85%, with 100% automation compliance across all plant areas.
Interactions: Manage relationships with engineering contractors, OEMs, and service providers.
Market Complexity: Operate in a market with high competition from breweries, spirit brands, and alternative beverage companies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
Experience
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in FMCG or a similar environment.
• Proven skills in maintenance, automation, and project management within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Skills & Knowledge
• Proficient in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Brewing, Packaging, and Utilities operations, and familiarity with regional business strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and computer skills, including programming and facilitation abilities.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
