World of Bees Uganda Limited’s Apiculture Business Fund is a fast growing business, currently providing financial services to registered members of TUNADO all over the country. World of Bees Uganda Limited and TUNADO are looking for Apiculture Credit officers aged between 18 and 35 years to drive ABF business at the respective RTCs and liaising with Apiary masters on the linkage to prospective borrower beekeepers.
Key Outputs/Responsibilities.
• Mobilize through the Apiary Masters, train and encourage beekeepers (the Youth, Bee Champions and Auxiliary beekeepers) to access the available Apiculture Business Fund to finance their Apiculture enterprises.
• In collaboration with RTC staff and Apiary Masters, the Apiculture Credit Officer will appraise and evaluate loan proposals and present to the RTC management credit committees for approval.
• The Apiculture Credit Officer will do an initial assessment of the RTC’s financial needs and make suggestions to the World of Bees Fund Manager.
• Make assessment of loan applicant risks and determine whether to grant or decline the credit applications.
• Oversee the funded projects and ensure that the credit facilities are used properly, and that the loan repayments are collected from the beekeepers directly or through the RTCs.
• Monitor the loan beneficiaries and ensure that they only sell their bee products to the RTCs to prevent side selling and enable them to repay their loans on time.
• Work towards achieving the targets that are assigned periodically.
• Will plan and lead joint efforts to recover overdue loans by teams of RTC staff and Apiary Masters.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on the ABF performance to World of Bees in a timely manner.
• Post and reconcile transactions in the Credit MIS
• Any other credit management tasks that may be given from time to time.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience.
• A minimum of a Diploma in Apiculture, Business, Agriculture or any other relevant field.
• Demonstrated track record of dedication towards mobilising loans and conducting loan recoveries.
• Climate Smart Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, micro finance and strong agribusiness skills
• At least 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable communities and familiarity with humanitarian programming and implementation
• Experience with relevant technical models such as Village Savings & Loans Associations, FMNR, Local
Value Chain Development.
• Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation.
• Capacity/potential in leadership, relationship management/networking, and coordination.
• Good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven conceptual & analytical skills, ability to take evidence-based approach to programme design.
• Minimum of 3 years professional work experience in project management, Livelihoods and microfinance enterprise development
• Experience of data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing
• Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive
• Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets
• Track record demonstrating high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable
• Team player, Self-motivator, able to work with limited supervision;
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with valid driving/riding license
• Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to communicate in applicable local language(s) is an added advantage
