Job Description/Requirements

All in one Women’s Association (ALOWA) has an exciting opportunity. ALOWA is inviting applications for its Volunteers Programme. Qualified Candidates will undergo five days of training on Project Planning and Management and will graduate with a certificate.  Those who will successfully graduate from the training will be enrolled on a fully sponsored mentorship programme.

The training will be held in Kampala and will be non-residential. Candidates must be willing to meet costs for travelling to and from the venue.

ALOWA will meet all other costs of the training. Although there is no specific area of study that is needed, preference will be given to those candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities (Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration,  Mass Communication,  public relations, gender studies, ethics and human rights, law, development studies, project planning and management, public administration etc). Special consideration will be given to candidates who have wide experience in responding to the needs of vulnerable women like single mothers, Women with Disabilities, Women domestic workers,

women vendors etc. Women who are already advocates of women’s rights will have an added advantage.  Only candidates with Computer knowledge will be selected.  Candidates who possess a computer and smartphone will have an added advantage.  Candidates with knowledge of writing fundable project proposals will stand a better chance of being considered.

Being a women’s programme, only girls and women aged 25-40 years will be considered. In selecting candidates, ALOWA will ensure regional balance and all regions of Uganda including Northern, Eastern, Central and Western will be equally represented. Candidates are hereby requested to show the regional area where they will be based for future engagements and mentorship programme.
