Background
Environmental Management for Livelihood Improvement Bwaise Facility (EMLI) is a national membership environmental non-governmental and non-profit making organization registered with the National Bureau for NGOs (NGO Bureau), registration no. INDR79123491NB.

Qualifications, skills and experience required
• Education: Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounting option) or Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Accounting option). Partial Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.) will be an added advantage.
• Years of experience: 3 years’ experience in the field of Financial role preferably in the NGO Sector.
• Knowledge of financial procedures and Accounting software (Quickbooks)
• The applicant should be fluent in written and spoken English
• Should be able to work under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Should be Computer literate
• Should have excellent communication skills
• The applicant should not be above 28 years as of 24 September 2024

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
• Initiating all financial transactions
• Managing payment of monthly payroll and benefits, all invoices, expense reimbursements, cash advance and report from staff
• Preparing and filing monthly and annual returns & manage income tax queries as needed
• Recording all financial transactions in appropriate accounting program and generating monthly financial reports.
• Preparing monthly Bank reconciliation
• Ensuring compliance with EMLI Financial Policy

Management support
• Serving as custodian for management of office stationery supplies including maintenance of stock list of stationery, distribution of stationery as required by staff and keeping a log of distribution
• Serving as human resource assistant to; organize staff records, update inventory, perform electronic filing and records archiving
• Assisting with the scheduling, preparation and coordination of meetings
• Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers.
• Updating and maintaining financial procedures
• Performing clerical tasks such as filing, handling mail, making phone calls,
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Accounts and Administrative Officer and which do not conflict with primary duties and responsibilities as outlined above.
