We’re seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our finance team and take ownership of essential day-to-day accounting operations. Job Highlights

  • Hourly Rate: USD 4.50, the equivalent in your local currency
  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible during PST business hours
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive spreadsheet work and perform detailed financial reconciliations using advanced spreadsheet techniques
  • Handle all aspects of accounts payable processing, including timely vendor payments and relationship management
  • Oversee accounts receivable operations, including professional invoicing, billing activities, and collection follow-up
  • Execute daily bookkeeping operations using Sage 50 Pro Premium software with accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with the finance team to maintain precise and up-to-date financial records
  • Support the strategic transition of financial operations, enabling senior team members to focus on high-level business development
  • Work seamlessly with external accounting professionals during year-end and other critical financial periods

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience in a professional environment
  • Expert-level proficiency with Sage 50 Pro Premium software (this is essential for success in this role)
  • Advanced Excel and spreadsheet management skills with ability to create complex reconciliations; APPLICANTS MUST TAKE THE EXCEL TEST
  • Proven experience managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Strong background working specifically with for-profit companies and understanding commercial accounting practices preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate financial reconciliations and maintain data integrity
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial data management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Self-motivated professional who can work independently while maintaining regular communication
