Position Overview: 

SurePay Limited is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities: 

Financial Reporting and Analysis: 

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) on a regular basis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: 

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment.

General Ledger and Bookkeeping: 

  • Maintain the general ledger and perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.
  • Record financial transactions accurately and ensure proper documentation. ∙

Budgeting and Forecasting: 

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, identifying areas for improvement. ∙

Tax Compliance and Reporting: 

  • Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, income tax) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.

Financial Audits and Compliance: 

  • Support external audits and ensure audit readiness by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement:
  • Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role, preferably in the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office (Excel, Word,  PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Preferred Skills:
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). ∙
  • Familiarity with fintech or payment processing industry.
