Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Provide management with timely and accurate financial reports and insights to support decision-making.
- General Accounting:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Automotive Financing:
- Oversee financing operations, including loan processing, customer credit evaluations, and contract management.
- Monitor and manage the dealership’s floor plan financing.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to ensure seamless transaction processing and customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management:
- Track and manage vehicle inventory, including costing and depreciation.
- Coordinate with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely recording of vehicle sales and related financial transactions.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Stay current with tax laws and regulations affecting the automotive industry.
- Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive or finance industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive financing, loan processing, and credit evaluation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
