Preparation of Bank of Uganda Monthly, Quarterly & Weekly Reports and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Revenue assurance via review of actual vs expected collections
Reconciliation of the various accounts e.g. correspondent bank accounts, clearing, mobile money, and other internal general ledger accounts
Preparation of Internal and External audit schedules as may be required from time to time.
Reconciliation and preparation of prepayments and monthly accruals accounts respectively, authorization of standing instructions and analysis of prepayments.
Preparation of monthly reports such as average balances, Bills discounted & Balance sheet currency wise used in management reports preparation.
Maintenance of General Ledger (GL) chart of accounts and review of new GL accounts.
Budget schedules:-Population of branch wise actual/forecast/budget numbers.
Preparation of audit confirmations and review of a certificate of balances to customers from the Central Operations Department.
Authorization of journal entries and GL maintenances, review of management information reporting codes & upload of management accounts adjustments in the accounting system.
Preparation of lending covenant reports.
Analysis of payments for installments of the longterm borrowings + reset of benchmark rate in the accounting system.
Provision of technical advice and accounting support to other functional units within the company.
Being responsible for the integrity of the accounting system by ensuring that accounting transactions are correctly posted and financial & management reports are produced using accurate data.
Support the supervisors on all matters relating to the operations of the finance department that includes, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and overall financial discipline
Preparation of Intercompany settlement every month.
Supervision of monthly stock-taking exercise done by the procurement department
Update of banking industry data based on Bank of Uganda consolidated report and Banks’ publications.
Fair value workings for Treasury bills (FVOCI) every month based on the money market reports for the period.
Product profitability analysis
Adhoc assignments e.g. surveys/questionnaires/analysis, etc. that may be assigned from time to time.
The minimum qualifications are;
1. Graduate in relevant field e.g. B com (Accounting or Finance)
2. Professional course e.g. CPA/ACCA
