Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team in Kampala. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively with the Managing Director and other stakeholders.

Position Details
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: On-site in Kampala
Reporting Structure: Reports to Managing Director

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings.
• Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated efforts, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance.
• Confer with company officials about financial and regulatory matters.
• Inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, and other financial instruments to confirm record accuracy.
• Prepare and examine accounting records and financial statements to assess accuracy and compliance.

Essential Qualifications
• Education: Post-secondary diploma in Accounting and Finance or related fields.
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Required Skills: Critical Thinking, Mathematics, Judgment and Decision Making, Service Orientation.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in tax preparation software, accounting software, and spreadsheet software.
• Language Proficiency: English and Lunyankole.

Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications: CPA preferred.
• Skills: Active Learning, Time Management.
• Knowledge Areas: Computers and Electronics.
• Duties: Experience in reporting asset utilization and recommending operational changes.
