Gordon’s Agricultural Organization-Uganda (GAO-UG) Limited is seeking an Account Assistant to support the financial and administrative operations of the organization. This role is based in Aloi Town Council, Alebtong District, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission of empowering smallholder farmers in the Lango sub-region.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and process transactions in accordance with organizational policies.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and reconciliations as required.
• Manage petty cash and ensure all expenditures are properly documented.
• Support payroll preparation and ensure timely payment of staff.
• Assist in the preparation of financial audits and compliance reviews.
• Liaise with suppliers, banks, and other stakeholders for financial transactions.
• Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

1. Hold a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Have 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, preferably in an NGO or agricultural organization.
3. Be proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
4. Demonstrate excellent numerical, organizational, and analytical skills.
5. Possess strong integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
6. Reside in a district within Northern or Eastern Uganda and demonstrate a strong passion for agriculture and rural development
