Job Description
Job Title: Accountant
Location: Nakaseke District, Uganda
Contract: 1 year (renewable)
Start: April 1st, 2020
We are a chicken Layer farm Located in Nakaseke district and a leading supplier of a quality eggs. As we embark on our next expansion phase we are seeking to recruit an Accountant with a private sector background and experience in statutory and Management reporting.
The Overall Roles of the position are
(a) Preparation of financial, management and statutory reports for both in-house and year-end tax purposes
(b) Developing costing models for determination of company raw materials costs and product costs and pricing schedules.
(c) Internal and external Payment processing
(d) Maintain employee records including but not limited to hours, salary, mileage and personal time off, etc.
(e) Monthly payroll processing including the filing of payroll taxes and other statutory deductions
(f) Maintaining client records of billings and payments including the collection of accounts receivable when necessary.
(g) Maintaining an asset register of all assets purchased including their current state, location and details of the custodians.
(h) Receive and reconcile bank statements.
(i) Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and financial analysis reports including but not limited to financial statements, client budget reports and accounts receivable reports, etc.
(j) Maintain the company’s computerized accounting system in an up-to-date state including but not limited to entering all transactions, records of vendors and customers
(k) Support the budget development process and lead the subsequent budgetary control
(l) Filing annual statutory return for both the company and the company’s directors with URA and any other government departments.
(m) Provide clerical and administrative support to the office to ensure activities are professional, organized, and well documented
Key Requirements:
(a) Must hold a basic degree in Accounting
(b) Have experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office products mainly Excel, Word and Outlook.
(c) Demonstrate the ability to work with numbers and understand a broad range of common financial matters.
(d) Have demonstrated ability to make sound professional decisions.
(e) Be self-directed and self‐motivated.
(f) Willingness to move to Nakseke and travel regularly at short notice
