About the Role
Our client, a well-established organization in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking to recruit a Human Capital Executive to support the delivery of strategic and operational HR initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee core HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, learning and development, and HR administration while ensuring alignment with business objectives and local labor legislation.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
• Support performance management processes, including goal setting, appraisals, and performance improvement plans.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
• Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
• Coordinate training needs assessments and employee development programs.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems.
• Prepare HR reports and analyze workforce metrics to support management decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Administer compensation and benefits processes in collaboration with Finance.
• Support succession planning and talent management initiatives.
• Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years' HR experience within the pharmaceutical industry is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Ugandan labor laws and HR best practices.
• Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates must have hands-on HR experience gained in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or pharmaceutical distribution environment, with a solid understanding of the industry's operational and regulatory requirements.
