Uganda Martyrs University is a faith-based private, not-for-profit University owned by the Uganda Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Uganda. The University is looking for suitably qualified persons to fill the positions below.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
The applicant must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LL B) degree from a recognized institution.
S/he should have a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from a recognized institution (such as the Law Development Centre in Uganda).
S/he must be an enrolled advocate of the High Court with a valid practicing certificate.
Experience needed
Minimum of 1-year experience in Civil Society or Legal Practice.
Experience supervising law students in moot courts, legal aid clinics, internships, or community legal outreach programs.
Possession of a Master's degree in Law or a related field and training in Clinical Legal Education will also be an added advantage.
Skills Required
Strong Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Outreach Skills
Excellent research and report writing skills
Project writing and fund-raising skills
Responsibilities or duties
Organize Legal Aid services including litigation, ADR, follow ups and referrals.
Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
Prepare periodic technical and activity reports.
Organize outreach activities including legal literacy and rights advocacy with stakeholders and Civil Society Organizations aligned with the university's mandate.
Supervise and mentor law students during legal aid, internship, moot court, mediation, and community outreach activities.
Guide students in client interviewing, legal counseling, legal research, legal drafting, and case analysis.
Assist in developing practical legal training materials and clinical learning modules.
Assess and monitor students' performance in clinical legal programs.
