About Organisation:
Since 2018, the Internal Risk Management Group has been operating both as a loose network group (with funding from the Swedish Embassy in Uganda) with a component that allows it to be a fully-fledged self-autonomous firm (registered to partner and governance itself as a Company Limited by Guarantee without Shares) with an aim of leveraging on our past experience to increase the safety of NGO staff members, program beneficiaries and improve the overall impact, accountability and effectiveness of NGO programming and their partners in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Internal Risk Management Group (IRMG) is seeking to recruit a competent and results-oriented individual with the relevant skills, experience, and qualifications to support its finance, administration, and operations functions. Successful candidates will contribute to efficient resource management, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and the effective delivery of the Group’s mandate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the department’s financial processes, including budgeting, expenditure monitoring, payment processing, and financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting monthly reconciliations and audits.
- Coordinating procurement processes and ensuring compliance with organizational procurement policies.
- Managing office administration, asset registers, inventories, and departmental records.
- Coordinating meetings, preparing minutes, and following up on agreed action points.
- Supporting operational planning and ensuring efficient day-to-day departmental operations.
- Monitoring compliance with internal policies, statutory requirements, and risk management procedures.
- Supporting internal and external audit activities, including implementation of audit recommendations.
- Liaising with internal departments, service providers, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of the IRMG.
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and asset inventories.
- Coordinate procurement activities and ensure adherence to procurement policies.
- Maintain departmental filing systems, records, and confidential documentation.
- Manage travel arrangements, logistics, and accommodation for departmental staff where required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or
- Part professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA will be an added advantage.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in finance, administration, operations
- Experience working with Quick books is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of financial management, procurement, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
